Ganiga Matrimony ("we", "us", "our"), operated by SHREE MALESWAMI ENERGY SOLUTIONS, Second Floor 1st Room, Plot No.69 & 70, Survey No.1051/A/1/A, KIADB Aliyabad Industrial Area, Vijayapura, Karnataka 586104, is committed to protecting the privacy of the members of the Ganiga samaja who use our matrimonial platform ("Platform"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use and protect it, and the choices you have. It is published in compliance with the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act).

1. Information We Collect

  • Account & profile data — name, mobile, email, date of birth, gender, the person the profile is created for, and the details you enter in the profile wizard (religious/community, family, education & career, lifestyle, partner preferences, about-you).
  • Photos you upload to your profile.
  • Identity-verification documents — when you opt in to ID verification, the document type, document number, document image(s) and a verification selfie.
  • Payment information — processed by our payment partner (Razorpay). We do not store your full card/bank details on our servers; we retain only transaction references and your subscription status.
  • Usage data — interests sent/received, shortlists, matches, messages exchanged, and basic device/log information for security and analytics.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • To create your profile and provide matchmaking within the Ganiga community.
  • To verify member identity and reduce fake profiles.
  • To enable interactions you initiate — expressing interest, shortlisting, and messaging your matches.
  • To process subscriptions and provide paid features.
  • To send service notifications, match alerts and (with your consent) promotional updates.
  • To keep the Platform safe, investigate misuse, and comply with law.

3. How We Share Information

  • With other members: your profile (per your visibility settings) is visible to other members for the purpose of matchmaking. Your contact details and chat are shared only as you choose and as permitted by your plan.
  • Service providers: payment gateway (Razorpay), hosting, SMS/email delivery — bound to confidentiality and used only to provide the service.
  • Legal: when required by law, court order, or to protect the rights and safety of members.
  • We do not sell your personal data.

4. Identity Documents

ID-verification documents are accessible only to our verification team. If a verification is rejected, the uploaded document and selfie files are deleted from our servers and only the rejection record is retained. Approved-document retention is governed by Section 7.

5. Data Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards — access controls, restricted internal access, and secure transmission — to protect your data. Passwords are stored only in hashed form. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Your Rights & Choices

  • Access, correct or update your profile information at any time from your account.
  • Control profile visibility, manage your block list, and adjust notification preferences in Settings.
  • Withdraw consent or delete your account from Settings; on deletion your profile is removed from the Platform.

7. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account remains active or as necessary to provide our services. If you delete your account or request deletion of your personal information, we will delete or anonymize your data within a reasonable period, except where retention is required by applicable law, regulatory requirements, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, or legitimate business purposes. Verification documents submitted for identity verification may be retained only for as long as necessary to complete the verification process and to comply with applicable legal, regulatory, or security requirements. Rejected verification documents are deleted within a reasonable period after review. Certain transaction records, billing information, and records required for legal or tax compliance may be retained for the period prescribed under applicable laws.

8. Eligibility

The Platform is intended only for individuals legally permitted to marry under applicable Indian law (18+ for women, 21+ for men as applicable). We do not knowingly collect data from minors.

9. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be notified on the Platform. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
